More about the places we visited in Cologne...

Cologne Cathedral/ Kölner Dom: Climbing Koeln Dom

The building of Cathedral of Cologne was started in 1270 and took 600 years to complete . It is situated right next to Central Station so you can't miss it!

Imhoff-Stollwerck Chocolate Museum: Schoenes Schokolade

A visit to Cologne is not complete without a trip to the chocolate factory/museum. It is quite interesting and the smell is divine. You can wander around and look at the machinery (where chocolate is actually produced), learn about the history of chocolate production, sample the gloopy liquid chocolate on wafers and finally, spend a small fortune in the chocolate shop, try to resist this as it really is expensive and you can buy the same stuff elsewhere.
Rhine/ Rhein: Along the Rhine

Walk along the Rhine between cathedral and chocolate museum. Very nice views and atmosphere there and a great place for a afternoon stroll.

The Rhine runs through the city of Cologne, making your entrance to the city if visiting by train even more spectacular! If you travel by train as we did, to Cologne Hauptbahnhof, then you will cross the Rhine.

Cologne Trip

April 1st...

This was my second weekend in Germany and we decided to visit a place within Germany and zeroed in on Cologne, a historical city in Germany. It was a one day trip as most of wanted to rest on Sunday. Although we planned to cover a lot of places, the rains played spoilsport and we finally managed to visit Cologne cathedral, Lindt chocolate museum and Eu De Cologne museum(Farina house).
